Dr Girija Sankar Chaudhury: An Obituary

Dr Girija Sankar Chaudhury passed away on Tuesday 17th February 2009 after a heart attack, aged 69.  He was cremated at Glyntaff Crematorium on Thursday, 26th February 2009 in presence of his family and friends.

Dr Chaudhury was born in Pathsala of Kamrup District. He graduated from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh. He came to UK in 1966 and took up his first job as a doctor in County Donegal.  Then he moved to England and started to work in Yorkshire.

He married Dr Bijoylakshmi in 1977. He and his family then moved to Porth, Rhonda valley, South Wales in 1987 to work as a General Practitioner at Greenfield Surgery.

He has left behind his wife Dr Bijoylakshmi Chaudhury, his son Rathin and daughter Maitrayee.
